Cakes by Sarah

I was telling my sister-in-law about how I was getting into making cakes and she was interested in having me make her husband’s birthday cake. She originally wanted a John Deere tire cake, but changed her mind because she wasn’t sure if everyone would like the black fondant. So I showed her a few other cakes and she liked them and then said it was pretty much up to me. I combined a few of the cake ideas and made a cake of my own. This cake was a 9in and a 12in double layer cake with butter cream frosting all around and in between. I was a great cake, everyone loved it.

My good friend Ami ask me to make a cake for her son’s birthday, however you can’t sell a cake to someone who hasn’t tried them yet. So I made her a birthday cake even though her birthday was a few days away. She is a diva, and I love her. She knows how to have fun and knows how to be herself and that is awesome. She is one of my idols and I totally adore her. So for her I chose to make a pink zebra cake with a pink stiletto on top! The cake was funfetti (cause that is the pick of flavor for her son’s at the time) and I put homemade buttercream frosting on it too.

This cake for a friend who is a lovely young lady, her name is Brianna. I made this cake thinking that everyone needs a cake for their birthday. Right? It was my first time making a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, all in which were homemade. The birthday girl was very surprised and excited. The cake was so yummy and I can’t wait to make it again! I messed up a little on the wording, but I am still working on that part. Oh well, throughout my journey we’ll see good and bad, need for improvements, and maybe even great creations! I am a learn as you go type of person and I will defiantly learn as I go with these cakes.
